The JR Tucker PTSO would like to announce ROAR, a new art program that is unique to our school.  Similar to Reflections that we have taken part of in the past, this new contest will incorporate the theme ‘Heart of a Tiger’ into different artistic categories such as Music Composition, Photography, Dance, Film and more.  Please visit the JR Tucker website and go to the PTSO link for more information. Also, entry forms will be available at Back-to-School Night, as well as at the Front Office.

Memberships are $8 for individuals; $25 for families (4 or more).  Because we are a PTSO, every dollar will be used at JRT.

Message from the Nurse

Please send in your child’s health history form to the clinic if you have not already sent one in for this school year.

If your child has a health history that indicates he/she may need emergency medication at school and your child requires medication at school, please provide the school nurse with a health action plan, doctor’s orders, and/or emergency medicine.  Students may carry their own Epi Pen or inhaler, but they must have a health action plan signed by a parent and their doctor on file in the clinic.  Oral medications may not be carried by a student at any time.  If your child does not need emergency medications at school or you have recently supplied the clinic with an action plan and/or emergency medication, please disregard this message.  Blank plans can be found at by clicking on the HEALTH & SAFETY green button. Please call or email the school nurse, Ms. Pitts, with any questions.

Student Parking Information

Students who have PRE-PAID for a parking pass may pick them up in Mr. Burgess’s office on the side of Cafeteria 3 on Thursday 9/6 and Friday 9/7 during all lunches.

Beginning Monday, 9/10, students who need to either pay or pick up a pass may go to Mr. Burgess’s office during all lunches.

Student parking registration forms are available at the front office. YOU MUST HAVE THE COMPLETED FORM AND APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE ISSUED A PASS.

Parking enforcement will begin Monday, 9/24.  Students will receive ONE warning before they are towed. There are no exceptions. Leaving a note on your car saying you are going to “pay today” will not stop your car from getting towed.

If you choose not to buy a pass, your only option for parking is to park on St. Martin’s Lane behind the school. Parking there is enforced by Henrico Police and not the school, so if you do not follow the signage, your car may be ticketed or towed without warning.
