On Saturday, over a dozen students from Tucker participated in Virginia's District 8 National History Day competition. They created in-depth exhibits, websites, and group documentaries on a range of history topics to compete against other students from schools throughout Central Virginia.

First place in the Senior Group Website category went to Keertana Chinta, Niranjana Marri, and Ramitha Dasari for their website project titled, "Turning the Dial: Radium Girls, the Shaping of Labor Laws, and Influencing Science".

Second place in the Senior Individual Exhibit category went to Clara Meier for an exhibit titled, "Stonewall Riots: Igniting the Modern Pride Movement".

These students will proceed to state level competitions at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture next month, so please wish them the best of luck.

Finally, a special thanks goes out to Sara Maksimovic, who helped her fellow students to craft and edit their projects over the past two months.

Students should keep an eye out for future NHD interest meetings if you are curious about participating in next year's competition.
