Thank you to all the students who submitted community service activities. Congratulations to the 86 JRT Seniors who earned the Community Service Learning Seal on their diploma!

Here are the running totals for this year’s students & keep up the great work!

  • Seniors—128 students submitted 8,333 hours of activities

  • Juniors—136 students have submitted 8,915 hours so far

  • Sophomores—98  students have submitted 5,301 hours so far

  • Freshmen—63 students have submitted 1,676 hours so far

All students should review the following information as you make plans for the summer and next year:

  • Minimum hours required to receive the seal (hours due by mid-April senior year):

    • Class of 2025—50 hours

    • Class of 2026 and beyond—80 hours

  • Carefully review ALL information on the JRT Community Service Website, but pay specific attention to information on the Home page & School Year Reminders tab for details on expectations, types of approved activities and how to submit.

  • Activities with the google form not correctly filled out with expected detail, will not be approved.

  • The website provides step-by-step instructions on expectations and ideas for activities students may choose to complete.

  • Activities completed several times a month for the same organization—please submit MONTHLY. This action will better reflect the actual time for completing activities and a timely submission.

  • Activities submitted after April 29, 2024 will be reviewed once the school year starts back in August. Students may NOT be able to access the submission form since HCPS credentials are required to access the form. Keep paper records & submit once laptops are distributed. If students have questions over the summer, please email Mrs. Wesson (dwesson@henrico.k12.va.us). Please allow at least two weeks for a response as it is summer break.

Thank you again for your participation! While community service is not a requirement for graduation, it is a wonderful way to get involved with your school and give back to your community. Enjoy your break & we will see you in August!
