Athletic Update: Fall Sports Information

*VHSL Sports Physical Policy* No Physical + No Insurance= No Participation

Sports physicals are valid for 14 months from the date the physician signed the form. Parents & Guardians- Please assist the athletic department in monitoring your child’s physical date.

Physicals could expire during the season, athletes could become ineligible during the season if this occurs.

Forms: : ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION/PARENTAL CONSENT/EVALUATION FORM

Concussion, Heat Illness, Cardiac Arrest, and Student Contracts must also be completed. Student Activities and Athletics | Henrico County Public Schools (henricoschools.us )

Sports:

Boys Volleyball: Tryouts August 3rd from 6:00-9:00pm in the main gym. Practices will continue Monday- Friday until the start of School. No experience needed for rising 9th and 10th graders. You can find more information at jrtuckervolleyball.com/

Cheerleading: First practice- July 30 at 4:30, aux gym. Tryouts were held previously. Bring a water bottle.

Cross Country- Monday August 3 at JR Tucker 7:30-9:30 AM. After that, practice will be Tues, Wed and Fri, same time, at various parks around town. Full schedule with locations will be emailed. Bring a watch, towel and water bottle.

Field hockey: Tryouts, August 3- 5, Time: 6:00-8:00pm. Meet at the stadium- Bring FH regulation shin guards, mouth guard, stick, tennis shoes, an updated physical, water bottle.

Football- July 30-Aug. 7 from 4:00pm-8:30. Meet at the stadium. Bring cleats, tennis shoes, and water bottle.

Girls VB- Tryouts are held August 3 & 4 from 12:00pm-3:00. Check-in and registration starts at 10:30am on August 3 in the main gym.

Golf: Practice will be 11:45-2:00 on July 27 at The Hollows. Contact Coach Dorton.

Yearbooks Are Here!

We will have them for the seniors to pick up at graduation tonight.

We will distribute tomorrow morning before school from 8:30-9:00 and at dismissal.

They will be available the week of June 8th through the 11th from 9 am to 11 am in the main office.

Monday, April 15 Our theme for today is Dad's Closet. Thanks to those who wore a button-down, tie and/or a polo to support our tennis team today! At 4:30 PM, our Boys Varsity Tennis team competes against Hermitage! Please come support them! Tomorrow our Boys Varsity Tennis team will be back on the courts, and our Softball and Baseball teams will be playing! Our theme for the day will be 50's Throwback! Hope to see you at the courts or fields in your 50's-inspired attire tomorrow! Tie and button up shirt clip art

Tuesday, April 16 Our theme for the day is 50's Throwback! At 6:00 PM, our Varsity Baseball team takes on Highland Springs. The Gavel Staff will be recognized! Also at 6:00 PM, our Varsity Softball team plays Highland Springs. The Science Olympiad Club will be recognized! The 1st ten students who check in with DoorList at each of the games will receive free pixy stix! And don't forget to support our Boys Varsity Tennis team as it competes against Freeman right after school at 4:30! Tomorrow, wear your sunglasses, hats and tropical shirts to dress Hawaiian-style and plan to watch our girls and boys soccer teams compete!

Wednesday, April 17 Today we are going Hawaiian! Hope you wore some sunglasses, hats, or tropical shirts to support our Varsity soccer teams! At 6:00 PM, Varsity Girls Soccer plays Patrick Henry and celebrates its seniors! The Debate Club will be recognized! And at 7:30 PM, Varsity Boys Soccer plays Highland Springs. Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society will be recognized! The 1st 10 students who check in with DoorList at the game will receive free leis! Tomorrow, plan to support the Varsity Girls Tennis team and dress like a baby! Clipart pink and white flowers and leis.

Thursday, April 18 Today's theme is Back to Baby! Hope to see you at the Varsity Girls Tennis match today at 4:30 PM when they compete against Varina! Marine Corps JROTC is headed to Nationals! We are very proud of how hard the JROTC drill team worked to get to the 2nd Region Drill Competition! Because of their efforts, they earned the Armed Division Overall Runner-Up over the weekend in Norman Park, GA, which qualifies them for the Marine Corps National Drill Championship. This is the first time they have qualified for Nationals in the program's history. They also earned first place in unarmed color guard and second place in unarmed exhibition, armed inspection, and armed regulation. We are incredibly excited for this team!
